"At this point, I can tell you we will not have agreement before the first weekend of games." Bob Thompson of Fox's national cable sports networks, which is working with the Big Ten for the network.
I'm not worried about missing the IU-Indiana State or the Michigan-Appalachian State games, but I'm going to be really annoyed when IU is playing for a bowl bid and there is no way to watch it in my own home. I guess I'm going to have to get a reserved seat at a local bar really soon...or take over the home of one of my friends with satellite TV.
There will be a lot of highly irritated people in Indiana and other states if the basketball season is lost except for a few ESPN broadcasts because these two can't make a deal, even if it is to put it on the sports tier.
